Director Biography – Jori Grönroos
Jori Grönroos was born December 4th in 1978 in Finland.
Drawn to storytelling from a young age, Jori studied filmmaking at Turku Arts Academy. His debut short film “Pahanmielenrauha” received wide recognition at film festivals around Europe, and was a competition finalist at the Poitiers Film Festival, TSIFF in Tel Aviv, as well as FAFF in Vienna. His latest film “Fourteen Days” was screened at the Oscar qualifying HollyShorts Film Festival in Los Angeles, CA, and will be featured in the official competition both at the Toronto Short Film Festival and Vaughan International Film Festival. The film also won 5 awards including “BEST FILM” at the Panorama Online Film Festival in Copenhagen.
In addition to fiction film, Jori has directed music videos and commercials. He has also directed for TV, and is currently working on a crime series for finnish national television, as well as working on his debut feature.
