Director’s BIO: Giovanni Ferrari

Giovanni is a New York based movie producer and MFA degree candidate at Columbia University, School of the Arts.

Giovanni was born in Brescia, Italy. Following a period of study in Brazil, he graduated in Business Administration from the University Bocconi of Milan in 2004. After a first work experience in Bangkok at the Italian Embassy of Thailand, Laos and Cambodia, he returned to Italy where he began his professional experience at the Mondadori publishing house. In 2010 he completed a second degree in Philosophy at the University of Milan while at the same time he devoted himself to cinema by producing the documentary Kinder Der Wende.

During his years at Columbia Giovanni has produced a number of shorts. This latest, Smell, based upon the Kurt Vonnegut’s short story The Honor of a Newsboy, received the 2014 Sound Lounge Post Production Award.

Giovanni is currently in development on two features.
